Prayers of the Saints
Another angel, who had a golden censer, came and stood at the altar. He was given much incense to offer, with the prayers of all the saints, on the golden altar before the throne. The smoke of the incense, together with the prayers of the saints, went up before God from the angel's hand (Revelation 8:3,4).
Can you imagine the prayers of Christ followers rising up like the smoke of incense before God?
Right now, all over the world, Christians are praying for comfort, for healing, for salvation. They are praying prayers of thanksgiving, petition and adoration. God acknowledges these prayers and answers them according to his divine purpose (John 14:13).
What if the believers in Dallas prayed intentionally for our city? Can you imagine what God would do as these prayers rose before Him?
On January 20 at 6:00 p.m., believers from all over Dallas will gather at Park Cities Baptist Church to launch A Prayed 4 City, a Dallas prayer movement uniting believers across ethnic, racial, economic, and denominational lines to pray for the welfare of our city (Jeremiah 29:7). Join us for that event. Also, sign up at www.ap4c.org to join the on-going prayer movement in 2013. You'll be assigned one day of the month to focus your prayers on the needs and blessings of our city.
How are you praying for your city today? Leave a comment.
